Happy things

So a happy picture post from the summer.

These are the girls at Lipscomb's IMPACT. The girl on my left was the intern last summer. And, yes, my shoulder is already injured in this pic.

Happy fourth of July from Sunshine Point (the Church lake)

The girls and Me after a work-out double-header of Salsa and Barbie Aerobics.

Me in the Bahamas! With Bevin and Shareffa, girls i worked with at the Grand Bahama Children's home.

Siesta

I am tired. Worn out. My summer in Tuscaloosa is almost over (exactly 11 days left), and i hope i can make it through. My patience is wearing thin, my temper is short, the bags under my eyes are large and pronounced, and my appetite is deminished in the summer heat. I have always spent my summers running with the youth group, but it is different when you plan for the youth group. i am frustrated with the attitude of my teens. Very few people actually have a desire to know God. Most are made to come by their parents. They come hang out, wear inappropriate clothing, text message other people, gripe, complain, bring down moral, and mock me. I know i am suposed to love these kids more, but i am having trouble. I want to shake them, and ask them to stop coming with those attitudes. pray for me these last 11 days.

URG!

I would like to take a moment and rant about the government! Specifically Taxes!

I am a poor college student! 9 months of the year, i live in a dorm with 200 other people. Since may the government has taken $362.72! Since MAY! That is 20% of my hard-earned money! i acknowledge that everyone gets taxed, some/most get over taxed. HOWEVER, this is my blog and in my blog, i am mad about uncle sam stealing my money! there should be a tax waiver for students. if your in college, junior college, technical school, or high school, you shouldn't have to pay taxes. Do you intentionally trip babies as they learn to walk? NO! leave college students alone! We typically spend our money in the "right places" (i.e. retail, electronics, cars, food)i believe the government wants us to use our money for the good of the economy. We would spend more if they wouldn't steal it from us. AND WHY AM I BEING TAXED FOR BEING SINGLE??? Stupids trying to force us all into marriage. losers. Can the Lord come and rid us of this terrible world? Please?!!

stink

Do not let the title of this post fool you! this summer is going really well. I just got back from a ten day trip to Nashville for IMPACT at Lipscomb U.
However, i have gone to the dark side.

Yes, i finally gave in and got a myspace... I kind of hate myself for it. But i have resolved not to do a thing to it, just keep it for access to the music sceen.

love you all!

Latest

So this was my Drawing and Composition final.
I am aware that it is cheesy surrealism. However, it was supposed to be.
I rocked it! Yea, i made an A on this piece.
Art snobs: Lay off. I know it isn't perfect, but it is the only thing i have ever drawn i liked.

Enjoy!

Pop Culture Pricing

Will someone please tell me what this character is from? I recognize it, but cannot place it. All i know is that i used to love them! It reminds me of the alphabet people, but it isn't.

Someone please slap me for throwing away my Saved By the Bell shirt! Who knew i could have sold it for $30 if i had just waited a few years. Seriously, mom, is this why you don't throw anything away? ;)

~April~

Okay, so i promised you a post in April.
I finally came through!

School is winding up and down simultaneously thanks to finals and they-are-trying-to-make-us-Dead Week. I pack up and head for home the 10! I will then spend precicely 9.5 days at home before i head to ALABAMA for a spectacular summer internship. I am telling you in advance, there probably won't be blogging. Maybe a pic post, but don't hold your breathe! I am the only Intern. It promises to be an exillerating, informative summer.

Events in April:

Spring Sing took over campus. It wasn't the best year, but everyone worked hard and had fun. I didn't participate, but i saw the show. Congrats to everyone on a job well done.

I also Visited FHU. I went the same weekend as Makin Music, but somehow didn't get to the show. I did get to drink lots of coffee and see all my friends!!! Fun was had by all! I am so glad i got to see them I missed them.

Days for Darfur was an international awareness week April 23-27. It was a truely inpressive display, as my friend MA organized the entire week at FHU. There was a benefit concert, and a booth all week, but more importantly, people were told about this terrible genocide.

I saw Taylor Swift in concert at Harding. Very fun... Very High School, but a good show inspite of it all. I also enjoyed three movies, onegood and thrilling, one funny and terrible, and one pointles and terrible: Disturbia, Blades of Glory, and Hannibal Rising. Disturbia was very teen priented, but thrilling. If you are in a Will ferrel place, go see blades of glory. Don't ever go see Hannibal Rising. It just isn't worth the film.

Hopefully i willl see you all in May!

Readers

the thing about blogging is you hope someone reads what you take the time to post.

The only way i know of to see who is reading your blog, is to see who comments.

Now Dr. Burt has chastised me about not bloging often enough, and mom has commented once or twice.

I need to know people are reading and caring, So comment.

I hope you had a happy March.

for my april post, i will actually tell you something. IT WILL BE AMAZING. so come back, comment, and visit often.

It's About Time I Update

It has been quite a while since i updated. Christmas was amazing! I got a new green sweater, thanks to B! (H- he doesn't have a blog. Get info from D, M, or A.)

I switched Universities and majors. It is a huge adjustment. I am still working out the kinks, but i am confident it will all work out. Right now, i am trying to figure out next semester's schedule. Now that is difficult. I am also trying to decide if i wouldn't rather through in the Liberal Arts towel and go to pastry school.

Tell me what your dream job is!
